A 29-year-old Cheyenne man has been arrested for taking a motorized golf cart off-roading inside the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

Kevin Sinning, who authorities say appeared to be intoxicated, decided to take a golf cart onto a moving walkway in the airport’s terminal.

A video of the incident (see below) posted by a TikToker with the handle @bpro_d that’s been viewed millions of times shows an unperturbed Sinning sitting in the golf cart on the moving walkway, which is too narrow to accommodate the cart.

Airport personnel are outside the walkway trying to get to Sinning, while a number of people in the airport have their phones out recording the whole thing.

Lead Story In Buffalo

The incident led TV newscasts in Buffalo on Tuesday. Anchors shook their heads as they watched the bizarre video.

"It's kind of hard to believe this actually happened," said news anchor Scott Levin.

One eyewitness told WGRZ-TV that he was shocked by what he saw and was worried the man breached security.

"Was he armed?" asked Tom Brennan of Cheektowaga. "I think that's why a lot of people took a safe step back and wait for the police to take over."

Brennan said he could tell something "wasn't right with him" as he ignored calls from police to stop what he was doing.

An airport spokesperson told the TV station she was grateful for the quick action of the police and hoped they could stop something like this from happening in the future.

Not A Funny Matter

While it may seem humorous, airport authorities weren’t laughing.

According to a statement from the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) Police Department’s Aviation Division, the incident happened at 12:53 a.m. Monday.

Sinning hopped into a Prime Flight cart and drove it down the length of the moving walkway, causing extensive damage to the vehicle, the walkway, and the glass panels on either side of the walkway.

The NFTA arrested Sinning, and he faces a litany of charges:

• Second-degree criminal mischief.

• Disorderly conduct.

• Criminal possession of stolen property (the cart).

• Criminal nuisance.

• Third-degree grand larceny.

‘Visibly Intoxicated”

Sinning, who NFTA reports was “visibly intoxicated” at the time, didn’t seem to be bothered in the slightest by his destructive actions.

Once behind the wheel, Sinning wedged the too-wide electric cart into the walkway, oblivious to the damage he was causing, and continued driving.

The NFTA was not available for comment at the time of publication.
