Dear editor:

I am amazed at the story that grizzlies in the Cody area are not afraid of humans. What happened to thinking about this throughly?

Let's see, the hunter has been baiting black bears to bring them in, so it will make the hunting experience so much easier.

Well, he forgot to put out the neon sign for the grizzlies that are also hungry, that they were not invited to the banquet.

Oh wait, grizzlies can't read anyway. So they just enjoyed the banquet (bait) alongside the black bears.

Then the hunter comes driving down into the area with probably more bait for the easy hunting experience.

The bears can smell the bait from miles away through concrete and went to meet the guy that was bringing them a snack to eat.

They think he is such a good human to be bringing us a meal, let's meet him on the road to thank him!

I have always disagreed with the bait hunting laws. This is what happens, you are being a good guy and feeding many different bears and other creatures, just so your hunting is to shoot " ducks in a barrel" - the easy way to hunt.

I don't see a reason that you should complain about the now tame bears.

Sincerely,

Carla Thomas, Lander
