“Abortion is much safer than pregnancy and childbirth,” a pro-abortion attorney told the Wyoming Supreme Court this week.
Obviously, for the baby who is killed, it’s not safe at all. The hypocrisy of the Left never ceases to amaze me.
The case the high court is now considering will decide if abortion access is a right in Wyoming, after a Teton County Judge ruled that the law that the legislature passed to rid ourselves of fetal murder is unconstitutional.
The Wyoming Supreme Court now is considering whether she was right or wrong.
During the case argument Wednesday, one justice pointed out that the high court’s analysis will require a balancing of the rights of the born with the unborn.
But a pro-abortion attorney argued that “abortion is only health care for the mother.” He cited the mortality rate of childbirth: 33 per 100,000. Abortion is not health care for the fetus, they argued. Then in circular argument, the attorney added that the multifetal reduction banned by the law is intended to save the life of one fetus, when multiple are present.
But a justice pointed out that clearly this is a medical decision that will affect the fetus.
Yet, if a “healthcare decision” as cited in the constitutional provision at issue, could be a fundamental right under the argument made by the abortion activists’ counsel, this would be a slippery slope that could open the floodgates, the justices opined.
What is health care then? The justices posited this could be assisted suicide, experimental drug use, “gender affirming care,” and more.
So lawmakers overnight would have no say in these matters of public and political importance?
While arguing in defense of two abortion bans, Wyoming’s attorney noted that our legislators are in fact most situated to decide these policy questions because they are the most accountable to the people through a direct vote. Another justice said that depending upon how broadly we define healthcare this could have far reaching consequences.
When one justice said assisted suicide is murder, the pro-abortion attorney, apparently unaware of the irony, countered, “I don’t think murder is considered healthcare.”
Apparently, it is only murder if the Left tells us it is. Just like a man is a woman when they tell us that’s the way it is. Natural law has no place in the leftist agenda. They are blind to truth.
Pointing to the equal protection requirements in America, the logic that life doesn’t count until you’re breathing outside of the womb seems to fall short of common sense and existing law. One law provides the ability to punish the murderer of a pregnant woman more severely than if the victim is not pregnant.
As usual, when the Left doesn’t agree, its activists disregard rule of law.
“The decision in Dobbs (the U.S. Supreme Court case that overturned Roe v. Wade) is incorrect,” the pro-abortion attorney argued.
I wonder if the self-appointed talking heads of the legal community will send a nasty letter about that one? The last one seemed to really resonate…
The attorney’s argument appeared to call for the Wyoming Supreme Court to ignore what the United States Supreme Court, our highest court in the land, has already held.
The hypocrisy of the Left is deafening. This includes Republicans who hold none of our principal truths or values. Their bolo ties seem to block the airflow to their brains. Then again, that’s why they weren’t re-elected despite big money and their tough keyboard-warrior mentality. They lack relevance almost as much as they lack common sense. Their voices are loud but they can’t see truth.
Easter weekend is a time for us to reflect. And I’m reminded of a scripture which seems deeply applicable here: “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind” – John 9:39.
The old guard incumbents who were run out of Cheyenne by unknowns in the political arena voted against life, voted for DEI, and took campaign money from Big Pharma. It seems people care more and more about common sense and truth as time goes on, and the results speak for themselves. The biggest problem the pro-abortionists had in their oral argument is, they opened their mouths to speak, and the hypocrisy of their arguments was apparent.
This demonstrates a good campaign adage – even when the Left is blind to truth, the voters aren’t.
