The search for missing Powell man Clint White, 52, was called off Tuesday evening after he was found dead in an undisclosed location.

The cause of death is still under investigation pending a coroner’s report, but no foul play is suspected, Powell Police Chief Jim Rhea told Cowboy State Daily on Wednesday.

White had been missing for nearly a week as law enforcement and community volunteers searched for him.

He was last seen on video surveillance leaving his home in the early morning hours of March 26 carrying a checkered blanket and generator.

White’s family is devastated by the news, his sister Charise Rose said, while thanking the community and law enforcement on her family’s behalf for all their work in helping to locate her brother.

“We are so grateful for all who reached out and were looking,” Rose told Cowboy State Daily on Wednesday. “This is an amazing community and state. The police worked hard to help.”

Rhea, likewise, thanked volunteers and law enforcement partners for their help, in particular Park County Sheriff Darrell Steward and the Park County Search and Rescue team.

“They were critical in the location, and did a fantastic job,” Rhea said. “Their professionalism was definitely on point, and it was fantastic for them through a mutual aid to assist us with this investigation.”

White’s family friend Greg Wise posted about White’s death on the Missing People of Wyoming Facebook page.

“This is breaking so many hearts to hear this news,” Wise wrote. “The family was indeed so touched by the vast support and prayers during the last week.”

Services for White’s funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Powell.

“Thank you for the caring and love you have given them,” he said. “Pray for their comfort as they go through the next days and weeks.”
