A Gillette man implicated in a shooting and on the loose since Tuesday was caught Saturday evening, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office says.
Kamren Crousore, 18, is suspected in the Tuesday shooting of a 19-year-old man following an argument on Echeta Road, according to an earlier statement by the department.
Sheriff’s personnel released Crousore’s description and prior booking photo Thursday in an effort to find him, and warned the public he was considered “armed and dangerous.”
Campbell County Sheriff’s Office deputies caught the man at an “unspecified residence” after “many hours of dedicated investigative work” by the department in cooperation with other area law enforcement agencies, says a Saturday statement by the sheriff’s office.
Campbell County Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds confirmed to Cowboy State Daily in a phone interview that Crousore did not turn himself in. But no standoff unfolded, Reynolds added.
Crousore is being held at the Campbell County Detention Center, awaiting his initial appearance in court on criminal charges, says the statement.
"This arrest reflects the unwavering commitment of our deputies and partner agencies to ensuring justice and public safety," said Sheriff Scott Matheny in the statement. "We appreciate the community's patience and support as we worked tirelessly to locate Crousore."

The 19-year-old shooting victim, who was life-flighted, was recovering Saturday evening, Reynolds said.
Straight Out Of Court
Crousore was sentenced to probation for felony burglaries eight days before the shooting.
District Court Judge F. Scott Peasley sentenced Crousore on Feb. 24 to five years’ supervised probation for a Niobrara County and Platte County car-hopping theft spree that happened March 20, 2024.
Peasley’s sentencing order says that if Crousore violated any of his probation terms he could spend five to seven years in prison.
Those terms included staying away from drugs and alcohol, possessing no weapons, completing a cognitive thinking class, completing treatment, and staying away from the people with whom he’d gone car-hopping last March.
He was also ordered to pay $2,151.16 in restitution.
Crousore and other youths left Gillette around March 19, 2024, then went on a spree of stealing cars and stealing things from cars — including an AR-15 firearm — in the towns of Lusk, Guernsey and Douglas over the course of the night, says the case affidavit.
Campbell County authorities cited Crousore on Tuesday, the day of the shooting, for an alleged criminal entry offense dating to Sunday, March 2.
Crousore was convicted of drug use and possession when he was about 16, and spent time in jail after using methamphetamine while on probation for those convictions, his court file says.
Crousore's artist-profile Facebook page, which features rap music, says he hails from Sumter, South Carolina. In one of his rap videos on Youtube, Crousore lamented about going to jail.
