The Sheridan Police Department is asking people to be on the lookout for two small children suspected of being taken by their mother, who is their noncustodial parent and may have been spotted in Casper on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol has issued an Endangered Persons Advisory for 3-year-old Colin Fogli and his 4-year-old sister Lindsey, who were taken by their mother Erin Garretson.
The children were reported missing by their father Sunday, said Cpt. Tom Ringley with the SPD, who confirmed they still have not made contact with Garretson as of Wednesday morning.
Ringley said an Amber Alert was not issued because there was no articulated immediate threat to meet the threshold of that particular alert. He declined to comment on the mitigating factors surrounding the disappearance of the children and their mother, citing an active investigation.
“We’re just anxious to locate them and get them to where they need to be,” Ringley said.
Ringley referred Cowboy State Daily to the Casper Police Department for more information about the potential sighting, but CPD spokesperson Amber Freestone did not immediately return a call.
Trooper Ryan Gerdes with the Wyoming Highway Patrol likewise deferred comment to the Casper Police Department.
Fogli and the children are traveling in a 2016 white Ford Expedition with Wyoming license plate 03-9575.
Garretson is described as a white female 5-feet, 4-inches tall with brown hair and hazel eyes and weighing around 165 pounds.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheridan Police Department at 307-672-2413 or call 911.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is available.
