Letter To The Editor: Is Your Columnist Dave Simpson Happy Now?

Dear editor: Dave Simpson is overjoyed with the return of “common sense” under President Trump. The common sense of giving an erratic, unelected billionaire and his geeks access to the personal banking information of millions of Americans?

Dear editor:

Last fall, your columnist Dave Simpson was sure that President Biden would lay his hands on twelve or fifteen million “illegal immigrants” to rig the election. Well, clearly that ridiculous prediction didn’t work out, and now Simpson is overjoyed with the return of “common sense” under President Trump.

The common sense of releasing from prison notorious drug kingpins, corrupt politicians, and violent offenders?

The common sense of giving an erratic, unelected billionaire and his geeks access to the personal banking information of millions of Americans?

The common sense of continually dissing members of minority populations and women of all colors. even when they comprise a substantial portion of the armed forces of our country?

The common sense of endangering our national security by appointing blatantly unqualified individuals to top posts in defense and intelligence? (Talk about “DEI hires”!)

I wonder if Mr. Simpson saw the President’s press conference when he read, with heavy scorn, from a “diversity, equity and inclusion” policy covering, among other things, physical and intellectual disabilities. Don’t be surprised when Special Olympics gets the ax.

Sincerely,

Sarah Gorin, Laramie
