Dear editor:
I am amazed that people are not afraid of the wild animals in Yellowstone National Park!
I was there for a week the 2nd week of August after Sturgis Bike Week and had an encounter with a buffalo as I rode my rumbling Harley Davidson road king and came real close to several at the road's edge.
My amazement was the car in front of me just stopped and people got out for a photo shoot. These imbeciles, walked up to the 2000-pound monsters as if they are not dangerous, snapping pictures and videos.
I'm wondering if I can outrun a pissed-off buffalo. Especially an ambush would be fatal!
My bike is loud and these monsters are checking me out! There are signs with people flying in the air from a buffalo attack.
Patience was a hard thing to have but finally these people are being yelled at and they get away unscathed.
I never thought about being this close to a giant -- snorting steam and in need of a bath!
I'm just happy to be farther from danger as my heart was on overtime 1 - 2 minutes for these people risking it all for a few pictures.
Today, I saw a lady on the news who woke up a sleeping buffalo and tried to ride it. Ridiculous.
I think she's nuts and might try a grizzly bear.
All my experiences in life it proves that was not my time to meet my maker. Seriously.
Sincerely,
Roger McKee
