Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories in effect for much of Wyoming on Thursday with heavy snow, snow, and some areas with blowing snow. Highs mostly in the 30s and lows mostly in the single digits and teens.

Central:

Casper: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. Expect snow mainly after 11 a.m. today and patchy, blowing snow after 1 p.m. and snow could be heavy at times tonight with patchy blowing snow. Otherwise, it should be breezy today with a high near 33 and breezy overnight with a low near 12. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph during the day and 34 mph overnight. Up to a foot of snow is possible.

Riverton: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. Snow mainly after 9 a.m. is near certain today with patchy, blowing snow after 1 p.m. and snow, heavy at times overnight is also near certain. Otherwise, it should be breezy today with a high near 34 and the low overnight should be near 15. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph during the day and 20 mph overnight. Up to 14 inches of snow is possible.

Glenrock: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 p.m. Snow with patchy blowing snow is near certain today and overnight. Otherwise, it should be breezy today with a high near 32 and breezy overnight with a low near 8. Winds could blow from 10-20 mph during the day and gust to 30 mph overnight. Up to 11 inches of snow is possible.

Southwest:

Evanston: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 5 p.m. There’s a chance of snow after noon today and snow and blowing snow are expected overnight. Otherwise, it should be cloudy today with a high near 36 and windy overnight with a low near 14. Winds could gust as high as 48 mph overnight. Up to 5 ½ inches of snow is possible.

Rock Springs: There’s a winter weather advisory in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. There’s a chance of snow mainly after 3 p.m. today and snow and patchy blowing snow are likely overnight. Otherwise, look for it to be cloudy and breezy today with a high near 36 and windy overnight with a low near 13. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph during the day and 44 mph overnight. Up to 2 ½ inches of snow is possible.

South Pass: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 5 p.m. Snow and patchy blowing snow are likely mainly after noon today and near certain overnight. Otherwise, it should be windy with a high near 30 today and very windy overnight with a low near 9. Winds could gust as high as 38 mph during the day and 55 mph overnight. Up to 5 inches of snow is possible.

Western Wyoming:

Pinedale: Snow is likely mainly before 4 p.m. today and there’s a chance of snow overnight. Otherwise, look for it to be breezy today with a high near 34 and cloudy and blustery overnight with a low near 12. Winds could blow from 13-18 mph during the day and gust to 31 mph overnight.

Alpine: Snow is near certain today and likely overnight. Otherwise, expect the high to be near 35 and it should be cloudy overnight with a low near 19. Up to about 2 inches of snow is possible.

Big Piney: There’s a winter weather advisory in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. Snow is likely mainly after 1 p.m. today and possible before 11 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, it should be cloudy today with a high near 36 and cloudy overnight with a low near 10. Up to around 3 inches of snow is possible.

Northwest:

Dubois: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. Snow and patchy blowing snow are near certain after 11 a.m. today and after 7 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, it should be breezy today with a high near 29 and breezy overnight with a low near 10. Winds could blow from 11-21 mph during the day and gust to 33 mph overnight. Up to 11 inches of snow is possible.

Jackson: Snow is near certain today and likely mainly before 8 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, look for a high today near 35 and it should be cloudy and blustery overnight with a low near 18. Winds could gust to 28 mph overnight. Up to around 5 ½ inches of snow is possible.

Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park: There’s a winter weather advisory in effect until 11 p.m. tonight. Snow is likely mainly between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. today and there’s a chance of snow tonight before 11 p.m. Otherwise, expect it to be cloudy today with a high near 30 and mostly cloudy overnight with a low near 9. Winds could gust to 26 mph during the day. Up to around 3 ½ inches of snow is possible.

Bighorn Basin:

Thermopolis: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. Snow is near certain today and overnight. Snow could be heavy at times. Otherwise, the high today should be near 34 and the low overnight near 15. Winds could gust to 20 mph during the day. Up to a foot of snow is possible.

Cody: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. Snow and patchy blowing snow are likely today and snow is possible before 11 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, expect it to be blustery today with a high near 29 and cloudy and blustery overnight with a low near 13. Winds could gust to 31 mph during the day and 26 mph overnight. New snow accumulation could be up to 7 inches.

Greybull: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. Snow is likely today and possible overnight. Otherwise, look for it to be breezy today with a high near 34 and cloudy overnight with a low near 18. Winds could gust to 20 mph during the day. Up to about 2 inches of snow is possible.

North Central:

Buffalo: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. Snow is likely today and overnight. Otherwise, the high today should be near 29 and the low overnight near 13. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph during the day. Up to about 9 inches of snow is possible.

Sheridan: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 6 a.m. Snow is likely today and mainly before 11 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, the high today should be near 32 and it should be cloudy overnight with a low near 15. Up to about 3 inches of snow is possible.

Ranchester: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 6 a.m. Snow is likely today and mainly before 11 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, the high today should be near 31 and it should be cloudy overnight with a low near 14. Up to about 4 inches of snow is possible.

Northeast:

Gillette: There’s a winter weather advisory in effect until Friday at 6 a.m. Snow is likely today and mainly before midnight tonight. Otherwise, it should be cloudy today with a high near 30 and cloudy overnight with a low near 10. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph during the day and overnight. Up to 4 inches of snow is possible.

Sundance: Snow is possible today mainly between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and there’s a chance of snow overnight. Otherwise, look for it to be cloudy today with a high near 27 and cloudy overnight with a low near 10. Winds could gust to 18 mph during the day and overnight.

Upton: There’s a winter weather advisory in effect until Friday at noon. Snow is likely mainly after 11 a.m. today and after 11 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, expect it to be cloudy today with a high near 32 and cloudy overnight with a low near 9. Winds could gust to 17 mph during the day. Up to 3 inches of snow is possible.

Eastern Plains:

Torrington: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 p.m. Snow is likely mainly after 3 p.m. today and it’s near certain overnight. Otherwise, it should be cloudy today with a high near 34 and the low overnight should be near 9. Up to around 7 inches of snow is possible.

Douglas: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 p.m. Snow is near certain mainly after noon today and overnight it could be heavy with patchy blowing snow. Otherwise, the high today should be near 32 and the low overnight should be near 6. Up to around 11 inches of snow is possible.

Midwest: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. Snow and patchy blowing snow is near certain today and snow is near certain overnight. Otherwise, it should be blustery today with a high near 31 and blustery overnight with a low near 11. Winds could blow from 15-20 mph during the day and gust to 23 mph overnight. Up to around a foot of snow is possible.

Southeast:

Cheyenne: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Saturday at 5 a.m. There’s a chance of snow today and it should snow overnight. It should be cloudy today with a high near 33 and the low overnight should be near 8. Up to around 5 inches of snow is possible.

Laramie: There’s a chance of snow today mainly after 2 p.m. and snow and patchy blowing snow are likely mainly after 11 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, expect it to be mostly cloudy and breezy today with a high near 30 and cloudy and breezy overnight with a low near 8. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph during the day and 40 mph overnight.

Medicine Bow: There’s a winter weather advisory in effect until Friday at 11 p.m. Snow and then patchy blowing snow are possible today after 2 p.m. and snow and widespread blowing snow is likely overnight. Otherwise, look for it to be cloudy and breezy today with a high near 33 and windy overnight with a low near 9. Winds could gust to 35 mph during the day and 45 mph overnight. Up to 3 inches of snow is possible.

South Central:

Rawlins: There’s a winter storm warning in effect until Friday at 11 p.m. There’s a chance of snow and then patchy blowing snow after 2 p.m. today and snow and widespread blowing snow are likely mainly after 11 p.m. tonight. Otherwise, look for it to be cloudy and breezy today with a high near 34 and windy overnight with a low near 13. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph during the day and 45 mph overnight. Up to 4 inches of snow is possible.

Encampment: Look for it to be mostly cloudy today with a high near 43 and cloudy and breezy overnight with a chance of snow and the low near 17. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph overnight.

Baggs: There’s a winter weather advisory in effect until 11 p.m. Friday night. Expect it to be mostly cloudy today with a high near 43 and cloudy overnight with a chance of snow after 11 p.m. and the low near 20.
