The ex-boyfriend of a missing Cody woman was arrested Wednesday evening on suspicion of drug delivery and unauthorized use of someone else’s vehicle.

Katie Ferguson was traveling back to Cody from Alabama with her two children and her ex-boyfriend Oct. 10, when she vanished somewhere around Little Rock, Arkansas, James Pulver, a Wyoming-based bail bondsman, posted to the Facebook page Missing People of Wyoming.

Ferguson’s mother Mona Hartling, also of Cody, authored a similar post in recent days, adding that Ferguson’s ex-boyfriend and her two young daughters made it back to Cody without her.

Ferguson’s siblings likewise published notices about their sister’s disappearance.

Adam Shane Aviles Jr., 26, also of Cody, was arrested Wednesday evening and booked into the Park County Detention Center on suspicion of drug delivery and unauthorized use of someone else’s vehicle, both recommended on the misdemeanor level.

Aviles announced his relationship with Ferguson via his own Facebook page July 18, 2021. A woman recently commented under his post: “Where is she?!”

The Cody Police Department did not immediately respond to Cowboy State Daily requests for comment.

Cowboy State Daily will update this story as more details are available.
