There are apparently too many elk, particularly in eastern and northeastern Wyoming, and lawmakers, ranchers, hunters and the Wyoming Department of Game and Fish are in a quandary over how to handle it.
There’s still disagreement about the results of this week’s Cody Planning and Zoning Board meeting meeting, but Cody city staff, members of the church and the chairman of the Planning and Zoning board all say the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has final approval to build the controversial temple, including a 77-foot steeple that’s been the focus of months of local opposition.
A new Colorado law raising the legal age to buy a firearm in that state from 18 to 21 has already been blocked by a federal judge. But the director of UW’s Firearms Research Center told Cowboy State Daily that he’s certain that the law will be proven unconstitutional.
A new national poll shows that Democrats, according to an NPR survey, by an overwhelming margin believe climate change is the top priority, Republicans believe the economy has to come first. Wyoming legislators say there’s room for both.
And columnist Rod Miller recalls that time he lost a bet to a “white supremacist knuckle-dragger.”
