Update: The Riverton Police Department reported late Thursday James Knudson had been found.

Police dispatched an Ashanti Alert, or missing person alert, Thursday for James Knudson, 80, who left his Riverton home in the early morning in his red Jeep, contrary to his usual behavior.

Riverton Police Department Chief Eric Hurtado said Knudson left his home in the red Jeep after having spoken to others about visiting a friend. But Knudson has health problems, and leaving home in this way is atypical for him, the chief said.

He's in a red Jeep with the county number 10, followed by the numbers 37483.

Anyone with information can call 307-856-4891, but RPD is asking people not to call 911 unless it is an emergency.
