A major winter storm will bring high impacts to most of Wyoming through Wednesday. Snow, wind, and very cold temperatures. Travel and livestock impacts will be high. Heavy snow and blizzard conditions with bitter wind chills will impact many areas of the state.

Central:

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL TUESDAY AT 6 P.M.

Riverton can expect 1 to 3 inches of snow today, with a high near 34; breezy, with wind gusts as high as 23 mph. 4 to 8 inches of snow is expected today in Casper, with widespread blowing snow after noon and a high near 32; winds could gust as high as 38 mph. Near Jeffrey City, 4 to 6 inches of snow is possible today, along with wind gusts in the afternoon as high as 37 mph, and a high near 30.

Heavy snow overnight in Riverton (5 to 9 inches possible), with a low around 20; windy, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Casper could see between 7 and 11 inches of snow overnight, along with wind gusts as high as 55 mph and a low around 23. 6 to 10 inches of snow is possible tonight near Jeffrey City, with a low around 18 and wind chill values as low as zero; very windy, with gusts as high as 55 mph. 

Southwest:

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL TUESDAY AT 6 P.M.

Evanston can expect between 2 to 4 inches of snow today, with a high near 29. 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected in Green River today, with widespread blowing snow after noon and a high near 33; winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Over South Pass, 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible today, with areas of blowing snow after noon and a high near 26; winds could gust as high as 39 mph. 

3 to 5 inches of new snow could fall in Evanston overnight, with a low around 15 and wind chill values as low as 1. Green River could see 4 to 8 inches of snow overnight, with widespread blowing snow and a low around 17; winds could gust as high as 32 mph. South Pass can expect 2 to 4 inches of new snow tonight, along with wind gusts as high as 65 mph; lows around 15 with wind chill values as low as -10. 

Western Wyoming:

Afton can expect around an inch of new snow today, with a high near 31. Snow is likely this afternoon in Pinedale, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 27; new snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 P.M. TUESDAY in La Barge, with a high near 28; new snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Snow is likely overnight in Afton, with a low around 16; new snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible. Pinedale could see less than an inch of snow overnight, with a low around 12 and wind chill values as low as -5; blustery, with gusts as high as 29 mph. La Barge can expect 1 to 3 inches of new snow tonight, with a low around 12; blustery, with gusts as high as 21 mph. 

Northwest:

Jackson can expect less than a half inch of snow this afternoon, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 32. An inch of snow is possible in Dubois today, with a high near 29; breezy, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Theres a 40 percent chance of snow today in Yellowstone National Park, otherwise partly sunny and breezy, with a high near 30 and gusts as high as 20 mph; new snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Snow is likely overnight in Jackson (less than an inch expected), with a low around 16; breezy, with gusts as high as 20 mph. 1 to 3 inches of new snow is expected tonight in Dubois, with a low around 18; breezy, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Yellowstone has a 30 percent chance of snow tonight, otherwise mostly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 17 and gusts as high as 21 mph.

Bighorn Basin:

Worland could see less than a half inch of new snow this afternoon, with a high near 39. Theres a 50 percent chance of snow today in Cody (less than half an inch possible), with a high near 34; breezy, with gusts as high as 22 mph. WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 P.M. TUESDAY in Thermopolis, with around an inch of new snow today and a high near 39. 

1 to 3 inches of snow is possible overnight in Worland, with a low around 23; blustery, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Cody could see 2 to 4 inches of new snow overnight, with a low around 19; windy, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Overnight, Thermopolis could see 3 to 5 inches of new snow and wind gusts as high as 28 mph, with a low around 24. 

North Central:

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 12 A.M. WEDNESDAY

Buffalo can expect around an inch of new snow this afternoon, with a high near 32. Snow is likely in Sheridan this afternoon (less than half an inch possible), with a high near 36. Dayton could see less than half an inch of snow this afternoon, otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. 

Overnight, Buffalo could see 4 to 8 inches of new snow, and wind gusts as high as 30 mph, with a low around 22. Sheridan can expect around 5 inches of snow tonight, with a low around 18. 6 inches of snow is expected in Dayton overnight, with a low around 15. 

Northeast:

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM WEDNESDAY

Snow is likely this afternoon in Gillette (less than one inch possible), with a high near 34; breezy, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Sundance could see around an inch of snow this afternoon, otherwise cloudy, with a high near 32 and wind chill values as low as 16. Theres a 60% chance of snow this afternoon in Moorcroft (less than a half inch possible), with a high near 36; winds could gust as high as 16 mph. 

Gillette could see between 5 and 9 inches of new snow overnight, along with wind gusts as high as 28 mph; lows around 21, with wind chill values as low as 8. 5 to 9 inches of snow is possible overnight in Sundance, with a low around 15 and wind chill values as low as zero; breezy, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Moorcroft can expect between 3 and 7 inches of snow tonight, with a low around 19 and wind chill values as low as 10; breezy, with gusts as high as 21 mph. 

Eastern Plains:

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM WEDNESDAY

Lusk could see between 5 and 9 inches of snow today, along with wind gusts as high as 30 mph and a high near 29. Snow is likely today in Torrington (around an inch possible), turning to rain this afternoon, with a high near 41; breezy, with gusts as high as 35 mph. 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected today in Kaycee, with a high near 33; breezy, with winds increasing to 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon.

HEAVY snow in Lusk overnight, with 11 to 17 inches possible, along with winds gusting as high as 40 mph; lows around 15, with wind chill values between -5 and 5. Drizzle will turn to snow overnight in Torrington (3 to 7 inches possible), along with wind gusts as high as 50 mph and a low around 19. Kaycee could see 6 to 10 inches of new snow overnight, along with gusts as high as 45 mph and a low around 22. 

Southeast:

Cheyenne has a chance of snow this morning turning to rain this afternoon, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 49. Theres a chance of snow turning to rain this afternoon in Laramie, otherwise partly sunny and breezy, with a high near 46 and wind gusts as high as 35 mph. WINTER STORM WARNING UNTIL 6 AM WEDNESDAY in Chugwater, with 1 to 3 inches of new snow possible today and a high near 37; breezy, with winds 10 to 20 mph. 

Rain this evening will turn to snow overnight in Cheyenne, with 1 to 3 inches of new snow possible and wind gusts as high as 30 mph; some thunder is also possible, with a low around 16. Laramie can expect rain this evening, turning to snow overnight (1 to 3 inches expected), with some thunder possible; breezy, with wind gusts as high as 35 mph, and a low around 15. Heavy snow is expected overnight in Chugwater (7 to 11 inches of new snow possible), with the possibility of thunder, and a low around 17; blustery, with gusts as high as 35 mph. 

South Central:

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 P.M. TUESDAY

Rawlins could see 3 to 7 inches of new snow today, with a steady temperature around 28. 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected in Encampment today, turning to a rain/snow mix with the possibility of thunder later in the afternoon, and a high near 39; breezy, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Hanna can expect 2 to 4 inches of snow today, with thunder possible, and a high near 33; breezy, with winds 10 to 20 mph. 

Overnight, Rawlins can expect 2 to 4 inches of new snow, along with wind gusts as high as 35 mph and a low around 19. Encampment could see 1 to 3 inches of new snow tonight, with the possibility of thunder, and a low around 16; breezy, with gusts as high as 30 mph. 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected in Hanna overnight, with some thunder possible, along with wind gusts as high as 35 mph; lows around 16, with wind chill values between zero and 10.
