Officials pulled a body from the river near Casper on Sunday afternoon, authorities say.

A resident called law enforcement that day saying there was a body in the North Platte River near Evansville, said Kiera Grogan, Natrona County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.

Grogan told Cowboy State Daily that deputies and Natrona County Fire Protection District personnel responded to the area. Firefighters conducted a water recovery and pulled the body out.

The district told media outlets it was a man’s body.

Grogan said the sheriff’s office believes there is no criminal activity tied to the incident.

The Natrona County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the man publicly. Grogan said the agency is notifying the decedent’s next of kin and scheduling an autopsy.
