Cowboy State Daily reader Karl Brauneis sent in this photo of the moon setting over the Wind River Mountains on Tuesday morning.
Karl writes:
Many American Indian tribes know this as the “Hard Crust Snow Moon” and that name fits better in our country then the Worm Moon of March.
Also it’s 307 Day.
So we once again combine “Cowboy and Indian” with Hard Crust Snow Moon (Indian) and 307 Day (Wyoming Cowboy for March 7th) and the iconic Wind River Mountains and just a “wee little bit” (Irish) of Alpine Glow (Austrian).
Canon 40X. Untouched photograph. However due to telephoto lens the moon is not in scale to the human eye.
God Bless Wyoming,
Karl
