It’s Monday, February 6th – and all’s quiet on the western front, which the National Weather Service reports should continue into the evening. Although there will be the usual gusty winds from Jeffrey City to Casper and in the Cody Foothills, high wind is not expected. Temperatures will be a bit cooler than previous days, but nothing unusual for early February. The only precipitation would be a few snow showers across the western mountains, but nothing of consequence.
Central:
Mostly sunny in Riverton today, with a high near 26, and wind chill values as low as -15. Sunny and breezy near Jeffrey City, with a high near 26, and wind chill values as low as -10; winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Sunny and breezy in Casper today, with a high near 36; wind gusts as high as 33 mph.
Overnight, mostly cloudy in Riverton, with a low around 1, and wind chill values as low as -10. Patchy blowing snow tonight near Jeffrey City, otherwise mostly clear and breezy, with a low around 12 and wind chill values as low as -5; wind gusts as high as 37 mph expected. Mostly clear in Casper overnight, with a low around 23; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
Southwest:
