A woman is being treated for gunshot injuries to her head following a shooting in Casper on Friday morning, according to the Casper Police Department.

This is the second overnight shooting in Casper, as a man was killed earlier in the morning following a shootout with police near McKenzie Lake, the department reported.

The police department said a call was received at 3:20 a.m. by the victim, who said she was shot by an assailant in an alley of East K Street between North Durbin Street and North Wolcott Street.

The police and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported her to the Wyoming Medical Center where she is receiving treatment.

Streets in the area are closed to vehicular and foot traffic until the investigation is completed.

No suspect is in custody.

No other information has been released.
