Gov. Mark Gordon’s office will be closed for the remainder of the week to allow for a deep cleaning after a member of his staff tested positive for coronavirus this week.

The office announced the person who tested positive had been vaccinated against the coronavirus earlier.

The office will be closed Thursday and Friday to allow a deep cleaning, while Gordon’s staff will work remotely.

“As the Governor is fully vaccinated he will follow CDC guidance and wear a mask in the coming days,” spokesman Michael Pearlman said. “He is also adjusting his schedule to accommodate additional social distancing. The Governor tests regularly for COVID-19 and tested negative earlier today.”

This is not the first time Gordon’s office has been closed due to the coronavirus. One of his staffers tested positive for the virus back in late November, which then led to the office being closed for a day to be cleaned.
