The Park County Republican Party sent a letter to U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney this week telling her they no longer recognize her as their legitimate representative.

“After careful consideration of previous resolutions, our county censure of January 7th, 2021, and the State Central Committee censure of February 6th, 2021, and numerous outcries from Wyoming citizens, Park County Republican Precinct Committee will no longer recognize you as the legitimate Republican United States Representative for Park County Republicans,” said the letter, which was was shared to social media on Thursday night.

County party members said they were issuing the letter because Cheney has chosen to no longer fulfill her duties, obligations and oath of office to the Wyoming and U.S. Constitutions and her continued disregard for the rights and liberties of Wyoming citizens.

“In short, and in the immortal words of our 45th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump… ‘YOU’RE FIRED!'” the group concluded in the letter.

Cheney has faced backlash among Wyoming and national Republicans who objected to her vote to impeach former President Donald Trump earlier this year on allegations he inspired the crowd at a Jan. 6 address to invade the U.S. Capitol.

Multiple county-level Wyoming Republican parties censured her for her impeachment vote, including Park County.

She was even removed from her position as chair of the U.S. House Republican Conference due to her “stepping out of line” from the party.
