Two more residents of a Washakie County long-term care facility have died, bringing the total number of Wyoming residents to die as a result of coronavirus to 20.

The Wyoming Department of Health announced Friday that the two were residents of a long-term care facility in Washakie County where an outbreak was detected.

The two older women were the sixth residents of the facility to die as a result of the outbreak.

Both women had health conditions that put them at higher risk from the virus, the department said.

The department added that coronavirus has been confirmed in 16 of the facility’s residents and 12 of its staff.
