A 19-year-old was killed Tuesday evening after his pickup truck rolled over multiple times near Big Piney in Sublette County.
Tristin Peden was driving his Dodge Dakota pickup eastbound on County Road 134 at a high rate of speed, according to a Wyoming Highway Patrol report. At some point, the truck exited the roadway to the left.
Peden overcorrected in steering, causing the Dodge to cross and exit the roadway to the right. Peden again overcorrected and caused the vehicle to roll multiple times.
Peden wasn’t wearing his seat belt prior to the crash, according to the Highway Patrol. Speed, driver inattention and cell phone usage are all being investigated as possible contributing factors.
