Lincoln County has become the state’s first to be allowed to reopen its movie theaters and bowling alleys.

The county’s request for a variance to statewide health orders to allow the activities was approved as state officials approved plans allowing restaurants and bars to operate under special guidelines in five other counties.

Lincoln County’s order allows movie theaters in the county to show movies as long as safety guidelines are met, including requirements that viewers be kept six feet apart, only staff handle concessions, staff wear face masks and the theater be cleaned and disinfected between each movie showing.

The 6-foot distance is also required among those bowling in Lincoln County.

As groups finish their games, the seating area, bowling balls and every thing else where the groups played must be disinfected before another group can be admitted to the area.
