CHEYENNE — Police say they are "actively working" to locate a 27-year-old suspect in an early morning shooting in a central residential neighborhood who is "believed to be armed."
Adrian Maggos is described as having brown eyes, standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, the Cheyenne Police Department reports, adding that it's actively seeking information from the public about Maggos and the shooting.
"If you have any information on his whereabouts, please call dispatch (at) 307-637-6525," the department says in an update on the situation. People also can email Detective Jim Eddy at jeddy@cheyennepd.org.
The shooting was reported early Thursday morning in central Cheyenne, and one man was taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries, according to the Cheyenne Police Department.
The incident happened on the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue.
A suspect had been identified early on, the agency reports, and his name was released a couple hours later.
Dozens of police and sheriff vehicles lined Central Avenue and Warren Avenue as law enforcement officials investigated the area between the two major roadways.
Police tape enclosed the perimeter of one house on the tree-lined street.
Neighbors congregated outside the home.
This is an active investigation, and this story will be updated as more information is available.
