Anderson as we all are aware was/is Wyoming’s starting quarterback when they piled up 49 points on Saturday in Albuquerque.
With his brown curls and toothpaste-perfect smile, he looks like a quarterback we all imagine.
On Saturday, he was 20 of 29 passing for 341 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. He had a quarterback rating of 77.4.
That earned him the national Manning Award for quarterbacks and caused one wag on the formerly Twitter now known as X to write, “Someone please send this to Jay Sawvel.”
We feel strongly here that Anderson, a redshirt freshman, will be the QB in brown and gold for a full term.
Speaking of full terms, 93-year-old Peggy Jane the Mom has had the opposite of election fatigue for months.
She has literally lived with Fox News on 24/7 and loves Donald John Trump — a lot.
She loves that he’s a businessman and not a politician. She loves that he gets things done instead of taking things under advisement for years to come.
She loves his wife and to her, that is important.
She is from the Camelot era after all, when the real media respected their leaders.
In 1963, she took her two oldest out of school to line the streets of Laramie and watch JFK’s motorcade pass by, and then hustled us into the Fieldhouse where we sat way up high to hear him speak.
Recently, the Mom and I have become election phone pals. I am the only one of her three kids who is a Trumpian and she is glad to have someone to talk about it with.
I was feeling very confident about the outcome of the election until the expert Bill Sniffin wrote his column.
I know all too well that what Wyoming thinks or does usually in no way reflects the rest of this nutty country.
So I sent the man home and snuggled in bed on Tuesday, with just the light of the TV and the Twitter on my phone.
The dog was snoring on her pillow but did not show much interest.
The whole beautiful thing was over much sooner than I feared, with more surprising results than I could have hoped.
Fox News, after 3-1/2 years of whining, is back in my good graces. I thought for the most part their coverage was terrific.
When someone on the panel wondered aloud about the seemingly surprising Michigan results, someone else attributed it to “white Catholics.”
I cheered that and know my large and extended white Catholic family in Michigan did too.
Speaking of family and new beginnings, the Shurmur clan is growing by three.
Cousin Pat and wife Jennifer are going to be grandparents - for the first time - times THREE in December.
That’s what happens when three siblings marry in just over three years.
The shower invitation reads “Three peas in a pod, three bundles of love, cousins from heaven, sent from above.”
Sisters Allyson and Erica and their sister-in-law Lexi are guests of honor at one mega shower on Saturday.
If only I could borrow a Trump plane.
It’s going to be yuge. Victory Week indeed.
