Dear editor:

In response to Susan Caraveau's emotional letter to "tree huggers and nature lovers," her bitter verbiage was more a case of MSUing (making stuff up), expressed by a person who is not mindful of a much better world around us, here in Wyoming.

Mindful meaning: I intentionally love nature and sound forest management. I pay attention to matters concerning the oversight of wild mustangs, apex predators, protection of our wildlands and wilderness.

I purposefully engage an attitude of gratitude when topics like freedom, love, kindness and America come around.

The loss of Grizzly 399 through an auto accident by an unwitting driver, is one of life's (not sh*t happens!) experiences here in Wyoming. Lots of good, some troubling, a few tragic.

Our Bear 399 is a meaningful story.

Jaundiced attacks on otherwise intelligent people (who do care about the car driver's condition and thankful there wasn't a second death), won't denigrate our celebration of the wonderful heritage Bear 399 gave us all.

Sincerely,

Ed Carpenter
