Today’s top stories:

Unemployment rates in the Cowboy State are nearing historic lows, but many people across the state who started side gigs during the COVID-19 pandemic have discovered that working for themselves is preferable to working for someone else.

10 horses have died at Wyoming race tracks so far this summer - and nine of those were at Wyoming Downs in Evanston.

Although it might seem fairly basic, preparing “European Mounts,” or displays of just the skull and antlers or horns from cattle or big game, isn’t nearly as simple as people might think. 

Small towns across America are struggling, but in the tiny town of Hulettin northeast Wyoming, something interesting is happening. 

A former University of Wyoming professor is among 1,600 scientists who have signed a declaration stating there is no climate emergency that justifies eliminating fossil fuel usage by 2050.

There's an earnest effort underway to put the Bighorn River on the map. And local volunteers are leading the "blueway" forward.
