Vermont police apprehended a Casper homicide suspect Thursday at the request of the Casper Police Department, authorities say.

Casper detectives obtained warrants for Stacy Roberts Medicinetop, 36, on Thursday after learning Medicinetop was living in Vermont, according to a Friday statement by the department.

Police have identified Medicinetop as a suspect in the May 2 murder of Daniel R. Swope, 48, whom authorities found dead under apparent suspicious circumstances on the 700 block of East 3rd Street in Casper.

The Casper Police Department said the investigation into Swope's death is active and that no further information would be released about it.

“This homicide remains an open investigation,” reads the police statement. “We are asking anyone with information regarding this homicide to contact the Casper Police Department.”

Vermont State Police arrested Medicinetop on Thursday and held him without bail as a fugitive from justice.

Casper detectives interviewed Medicinetop after his arrest.

Medicinetop is slated for an arraignment in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in St. Albans Vermont at 11 a.m. Friday, the statement says.
