It’s Tuesday, April 25 – and the skies are unloading over the Cowboy State today. Rain and snow are expected over much of Wyoming, with winter returning in the southeast and west-central regions.

It’s Tuesday, April 25 – and the skies are unloading over the Cowboy State today. Rain and snow are expected over much of Wyoming, with winter returning in the southeast and west-central regions. The precipitation will taper off tonight, though, with sunnier skies in the forecast for tomorrow.

Central:

Rain is likely today in Riverton, with a high near 52; breezy, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Cloudy, breezy and rainy today in Casper, with a high near 48 and winds gusting as high as 24 mph. Showers are likely in Glenrock, with a high near 49. 

There’s a 40 percent chance of rain tonight in Riverton, with a low around 32. Casper has a 40 percent chance of rain overnight, with a low around 35; breezy, with winds gusting as high as 21 mph. Mostly cloudy tonight in Glenrock, with patchy fog and a 50 percent chance of showers, with a low around 32. 

Southwest:

There’s a 50% chance of rain and snow today in Green River, with a high near 45 (new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible). Evanston can expect less than an inch of snow this afternoon, otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. There’s a chance of rain and snow showers today in Lyman (less than one inch possible), with a high near 41. 

Green River has a chance of rain and snow tonight, with a low around 28. There’s a slight chance of rain and snow showers tonight in Evanston and in Lyman, with lows around 27. 

Western Wyoming:

There’s a chance of snow, rain and thunder this afternoon in Pinedale, with a high near 43; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Snow is likely before noon today in Alpine, with less than a half inch expected, turning to a slight chance of rain and thunder in the afternoon; mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. Big Piney has a chance of snow turning to rain in the afternoon, with some thunder also possible, and a high near 41; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Mostly cloudy in Pinedale overnight, with a low around 23. Partly cloudy tonight in Alpine, with a low around 27. Mostly cloudy overnight in Big Piney, with a low around 20. 

Northwest:

Jackson has a 40% chance of rain and snow this afternoon (less than a half inch expected), with some thunder also possible, and a high near 51. Dubois can expect less than half an inch of snow this morning, then a chance of rain, with a high near 50. Partly sunny and breezy today in Yellowstone National Park, with a high near 49 and wind gusts as high as 20 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight in Jackson, with a low around 28. Mostly cloudy in Dubois tonight, with a low around 30. Partly cloudy tonight in Yellowstone, with a low around 29.

Bighorn Basin:

There’s a 40 percent chance of rain today in Thermopolis, with a high near 57. Cloudy skies early in the day will turn mostly sunny in Cody, with a high near 56; breezy, with wind gusts as high as 34 mph. Ten Sleep has a slight chance of rain today, with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon, and a high near 57. 

Thermopolis has a 40 percent chance of rain tonight, with a low around 36. Partly cloudy and breezy overnight in Cody, with a low around 38 and winds gusting as high as 23 mph. There’s a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms tonight in Ten Sleep, otherwise partly cloudy, with a low around 36. 

North Central:

There’s a 30 percent chance of rain this afternoon in Sheridan, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 55. Buffalo has a slight chance of rain this afternoon, with a high near 51; breezy, with wind gusts as high as 21 mph. There’s a 30 percent chance of rain this afternoon in Big Horn, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 54. 

Partly cloudy overnight in Sheridan, with a low around 33. Partly cloudy in Buffalo tonight, with a low around 37. Partly cloudy tonight in Big Horn, with a low around 36. 

Northeast:

Showers are expected in Sundance today, with a high near 49. There’s a 50 percent chance of showers today in Gillette, with a high near 53. Upton can expect showers today, with a high near 56. 

Mostly cloudy overnight in Sundance, with a low around 35. Gillette has a 20 percent chance of showers tonight, with a low around 37. Mostly cloudy in Upton overnight, with a low around 35.

Eastern Plains:

Showers are likely today in Torrington, with thunderstorms also possible in the afternoon, and a high near 52; breezy, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Showers and patchy fog are likely in Lusk today, with a high near 46. Wright has a 50 percent chance of showers today, with a high near 51; breezy, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm overnight in Torrington, with patchy fog and a low around 37. There’s a 40 percent chance of showers tonight in Lusk, with a low around 34. Mostly cloudy overnight in Wright, with a low around 35. 

Southeast:

Rain, patchy fog, and possibly a thunderstorm are in the forecast today for Cheyenne, with a high near 44. 1 to 3 inches of new snow is possible today in Laramie, turning to rain in the afternoon, with some thunder possible and a high near 46. Snow showers are likely this morning in Medicine Bow, with 1 to 2 inches of new snow possible, turning to rain with a possibility of thunder later in the day and a high near 46. 

Rain, thunder and patchy fog in Cheyenne tonight will turn to snow, with 1 to 2 inches of new snow possible overnight, and a low around 33. Rain and snow showers are likely overnight in Laramie, with less than one inch of new snow expected, and some patchy fog towards morning; otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. There’s a chance of rain and snow showers overnight in Medicine Bow, with some thunder also possible and patchy fog expected, and a low around 30.

South Central:

Rawlins has a chance of snow showers turning to rain in the afternoon, with some thunder possible and patchy fog expected in the morning, with a high near 46. Around an inch of new snow could fall today in Encampment before turning to rain, with patchy fog in the morning and the possibility of thunder in the afternoon, with a high near 43. There’s a 50% chance of snow showers turning to rain in Baggs today, with some thunder also possible and a high near 46. 

There’s a chance of rain showers mixing with snow tonight in Rawlins before tapering off; mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Encampment has a chance of rain and snow showers overnight, with some thunder also possible, as well as patchy fog, with a low around 30. Mostly cloudy overnight in Baggs, with a low around 31.
