Dog attack

A Cheyenne boy is in the intensive care unit of the Cheyenne hospital following a “vicious” attack by a dog earlier this week, according to the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department.

The child, only identified as Henry, was attacked on Monday and is the child of an employee with the sheriff’s department.

“The family continues to struggle with this horrific incident and our thoughts and prayers are with them as they continue on this long journey towards Henry’s recovery,” a spokesperson with the department said. “With the grace of God, Henry survived this attack, but his recovery and healing are still months away.”

To help with medical expenses, the department announced a GoFundMe campaign had been started by a friend of the boy’s family.

“They are great neighbors who help all the people in the neighborhood and community,” Robert Bazeck, the creator of the campaign wrote in describing the effort. “Anything helps. Let’s make a difference in their lives like they have made a difference in ours. Thank you so much in advance.”

As of Thursday evening, nearly $7,000 had been raised toward a $15,000 goal.
