One of the most interesting pages we follow on Instagram is Motley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx because of his recent move to Wyoming.

Through that we see how the rocker and his family are adapting to or “conquering” the cowboy state as he might put it.

The latest involves a potential new hobby.

Our friend Doc Holliday at MyCountry 95.5 writes that Sixx has become an “avid fisherman.”

While we prefer the word ‘angler’ it does appear that the rockstar is enjoying the experience.

You might think that Sixx would prefer to fish with explosives and pyrotechnics but he appears to be doing it the traditional way.

On Monday, he was successful in his pursuit of trout as held up his catch for all to see.

“Great day on the Snake River with my son Decker,” he wrote.

He then told his wife to “fire up the grill, we’re coming home.”

But his comment might have been just for effect as Courtney Sixx responded: “Awww, you threw them back. I love you.”

Meanwhile his heavy metal buddies were more interested in trash-talking Sixx than expressing love.

John 5, a guitarist who has played with David Lee Roth, Marilyn Manson, and Rob Zombie (among others) questioned the validity of the photo.

“I think that fish is fake,” John 5 said.

Heavy metal drummer Fred Coury, of Cinderella fame, doubted Sixx’s fishing chops as well.

“How do we know that you didn’t bring that with you?,” Coury asked.

One of his friends gave him credit though.

Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Jason Hook replied, “You got one!”

By the way, Sixx was equipped well for the excursion.  He posted another photo with his fishing rod and net, along with a guitar (of course).

“Sorry Monday but I won’t be available today,” Sixx said.

“Do I hear “I don’t like Mondays” by Todd Rungren playing in the background?,” replied bandmate Tommy Lee.
