We’re looking for a skilled, full-stack web developer to immediately join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise and can work independently or with a team to maintain, update and improve our new website. Proficiency with Craft CMS, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, PHP and web applications and services is essential for succeeding in this role. The web developer will have an immediate impact on our brand and will help solidify our position as Wyoming’s largest digital news platform.

Objectives of this role

  • Create well-designed and tested code using best practices for web development, including for responsive design and mobile display

  • Maintain our website using standard HTML5/CSS3/PHP practices, and incorporate data from back-end databases and services

  • Develop testing schedules that address all browsers and devices, ensuring web content can be accessed on any computer or mobile device

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies

  • Monitor and adopt best practices for online news publishing

  • Ensure a smooth reader experience while also supporting the recently launched digital advertising program on the site

Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with stakeholders and managers to review business and functional requirements and to determine project scopes and specifications

  • Make small edits requested by managers and/or readers, develop plans for completing larger projects, and suggest strategic solutions to improve the website

  • Gain familiarity with current ad management vendor to ensure seamless integration with website backend

  • Conduct file backups regularly to local directories

  • Conduct regular Craft CMS updates

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency with multiple content management systems, including Craft CMS

  • Dedication to innovative, sophisticated designs and collaborative problem-solving

  • Experience in planning and developing websites across multiple products and organizations

  • Extensive knowledge of web applications, programming languages, and web services — including API, CSS3, cross-browser compatibility, HTML5, JavaScript, PHP, security principles, REST, and web user interface design

  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Klaviyo

  • Proficiency in SEO

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in web design, multimedia design, programming, or related field

  • Proven success in project coordination

  • Experience in implementing web development workflows and operations using industry tools

Salary
$75,000/yr - $95,000/yr DEO
