It’s summertime and time to take to the road in Wyoming, but travelers on some highways and interstates will experience a lot of “hurry up and wait” this week.

The state’s highway condition map shows that construction projects across Wyoming will continue to slow some travel.

On Interstate 80, delays are expected east of Cheyenne near Hillsdale because of bridge construction work, while pavement marking work west of Cheyenne will also cause some delays. Between Laramie and Elk Mountain, delays are expected because of construction at Fort Steele, while a paving project near Elk Mountain will also cause delays.

Delays are also expected west of Rawlins because of interstate ramp construction work, and resurfacing work west of Green River could result in delays of up to 10 minutes and stopped traffic.

On Interstate 25, bridge work and pavement marking projects are expected to cause delays south of Cheyenne, while bridge rehabilitation is expected to cause travel delays north of Cheyenne.

In Casper, delays are expected to be caused by bridge rehabilitation work.

On Interstate 90, the only spot where delays are expected is near Moorcroft, where bridge repairs are underway.

A number of projects are also underway on state and federal highways.

Work causing delays in travel can be expected in the following areas:

Wyoming Highway 296 northwest of Cody, expect delays;

Wyoming Highway 120 north of Cody, delays of up to 20 minutes;

U.S. Highway 14/16/20 west of Cody, delays of up to 20 minutes with stopped traffic;
